“Did any of them hurt you again?”

“No, I wasn’t hurt by anyone Esther”, Salamatu said shaking her head.

“Then what is the matter, why are you here alone crying? “You know they told us not to come this far.”

“See”, Salamatu said, revealing blood on her thighs.

“How long has it been on”, Esther asked.

“This is my first time. My mom told me before they took us that I would soon be of age.” “What do I do Esther?”

“Here, take this small towel. I used it last week when mine came. We can always share.
